Finding a Christmas gift for a guy is hard. It’s either socks, or something that ends up in a drawer and is never used again.
We are two 18-year-olds who run De’Jour, and we’ve had our fair share of boring Christmas gifts. Here is a list of things we would actually be happy to receive, all under 500 SEK.
1. A leather cardholder
Most guys carry around a worn-out wallet that is way too bulky, or keep their cards loose in their pocket. A slim cardholder solves the problem and gets used every day.
Ours, De’Jour Obsidian Black, is made of genuine leather, measures 7 x 10 cm, and has five compartments: two on each side and one in the middle. It comes in a white gift box with a ribbon, so you don’t need to wrap it. It costs 499 SEK and we have 100 in stock.
Yes, we’re biased. But that’s also why we started making them.
2. A really good hat
A simple knitted hat in a neutral color like black, gray, or navy blue goes with everything and gets used all winter long.
3. A travel-sized fragrance
A full bottle of perfume often costs more than 500 SEK, but many brands sell smaller bottles or sample sets. It’s a great way to give something luxurious without breaking the budget.
4. A book he’ll actually read
Biographies of athletes, entrepreneurs, or musicians usually appeal to guys who don’t read much otherwise.
5. An experience
Movie tickets, dinner, a one-month gym membership, or go-karting. An experience takes up no space and is usually a better memory than a physical gift.
6. A thermos mug
Perfect for anyone who takes coffee to school, work, or in the car. Choose one that keeps drinks hot for a long time and won’t leak in a bag.
7. A leather or metal keychain
Small, affordable, and used every day. It’s a great little extra Christmas gift to give alongside something else.
8. A skincare set
Many guys don’t use any skincare at all. A simple set with face wash and moisturizer is a great first step, and there are plenty of good options under 300 SEK.
9. A really good pair of socks
Okay, we said socks are boring. But a nice pair of high-quality socks in attractive packaging is something completely different from a three-pack from the grocery store.
10. Something personal
A framed photo, a letter, or a playlist. It costs almost nothing and is often what lasts the longest.
One last tip
The best Christmas gift is something he uses every day without thinking about it. It’s harder to find than something expensive, but it’s what is appreciated the most.
Merry Christmas, and good luck with the Christmas gift hunt.
